Here's some more ammunition against the proposed marina.

1) All construction costs of all current amenities are charged to all property owners. If this policy holds for the new marina slips, 8,000 property owners will be paying for the construction costs of an amenity that can only be used by 50+ boat-owning property owners. This is not fair. 

2) To my knowledge, the boat ramp facilities at White Horse Park are the only major amenities in Ocean Pines where no user fees are charged. All construction and operating costs of these facilities are 100% subsidized by all property owners. This is not fair.

Based on the above, one could strongly argue that boaters in Ocean Pines are currently not being asked to fund their fair share of costs for boating amenities. The proposed marina slips would only add insult to injury!
