Description: As many of you know therapy dog King, due to health issues, was retired from the reading program after 6 years working with children needing reading improvement skills.[King still does his other therapy work] Today we presented a portrait of King bordered by photos of his therapy work in the area to Showell Elementary School. It will be hung in the Special Education classroom. The portrait was done by Marilyn Garwig, my Pittsburgh son's mother in law, who is a well known pet artist in the Erie, Pa area. Shown in the photo L to R are special education teacher Elizabeth Scott, Jack Barnes, Showell Elementary principal Diane Shorts and of course King.
