Description: Just one example of a trash problem that is growing in Ocean Pines. At times as many as 75 bags have been seen left at the curb for weeks on end. Almost all are bags of leaves as homeowners wrestle with disposal problems. Uploaded: 5/7/2006 by Jack Barnes

I can put four of those mower bags in a 55 gallon barrel. That is 10 bushels of dry leaves in a 55 gallon Bag. Trash People will pick up 4 bags of leaves twice a week contract. * 10 bushel of mulched leaves, time 4, time 2, is 80 bushels of leaves in a week! I usually get the Job done with 40 bushels of mulched leaves! Those Bags of Leaves look to me to be loose packages of leaves. Still the trash people will pick up only a limit of 8 a week, 4 each on each trip! SO ONLY PUT 4 BAGS OUT EACH PICK UP DAY AND STORE THE REST FOR THE NEXT PICK UP DAY, so you don't make the area look dirty! I do my leaves in one rake and mulch and bag on the same day when it is dry!. I only put out 4 bags at a time and I tip the Pick up men on the truck appropriately! They help lift the 4 heavy bags for me. I have never had a pick up problem like this picture shows. If you need help call the building and grounds people or just load them into you vehicle and haul them to the dump behind the High School yourself! Or you can call the trash people and report a skipped trash pickup and arrange for special service with a oversize load! These look like a lot of leaves but mulched and packed in the proper paper bags will lightened the loads for everyone. Smokers need to pick up their cigarette butts too or put in your jeans pocket so you smell neat! I am so glad I don't live next door to this LEAF PACK RAT!
