Coldwell Banker to open new Cove office
By Dolores E. Pike

Major developments are taking place in Captain's Cove where the Coldwell Banker Eastern Shore Greenbackville office and staff will be part of the independent brokerage franchise owned and operated by George Ann and Dart Way.  The company is looking to strengthen its focus in serving northern Accomack County in Virginia along with southern Worcester, western Wicomico and Somerset Counties in Maryland.  The new franchise becomes official on January 2, 2007.

And on top of that, everyone will be moving into a beautiful new building, designed by David Quillen in the style which Bob Warfield, Captain's Cove Group LLC partner, likes to refer to as "an Eastern Shore" look.

"After six years in a garage, we now have a real office," said Mrs. Way.  With 3,000 square feet under roof there will be office and working space for 30 sales associates.  There will also be title and settlement services on site as well as a rental operation. At present the staff of approximately 20 people, many of whom have been with the firm in Captain's Cove since the summer of 2000, expect to move into their new quarters the first week of February.  Until that time they will be working in a trailer across the road from the new building.

Construction on the sales office began earlier this year in September by builder Coleman Bunting of Selbyville, DE and, according to Mr. Warfield, it is just the beginning.  It will be followed by support services buildings to house the types of businesses that the Cove's residents must now travel 20 minutes to obtain.

Out of a planned community of approximately 4,800 homes there are presently 850 homes in Captain's Cove, which recently completed a $2.3 million plus renovation to its golf course and now has an $8 million yacht club under construction, tentatively slated for completion in time for New Year's Eve 2007.
