9-11 Remembrance Ceremony
The Worcester County Veterans Memorial Foundation, in conjunction with the Ocean Pines Police Department and the Ocean Pines Volunteer Fire Department, is planning a 9-11 remembrance ceremony at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 11, at the memorial site off Route 589.
Former County Commissioner, Tom Cetola, will be master of ceremonies for the event. Colors will be presented by the Ocean Pines Volunteer Fire Department Honor Guard. Solos will be rendered by Ron Fisher and Joanne Masone. Wreaths honoring fallen police and firemen will be placed at the memorial as each of the four attacks of 9-11 is commemorated by the ringing of a gong.
Prayers will be offered for all those who lost loved ones on that tragic day. If you are aware of some one who suffered a loss on 9-11-01, please contact Roseann Bridgman at 410.641.7243 so that they may be included in the prayer service.
All County police and firemen, as well as the general public, are welcome at the remembrance ceremony. Please bring lawn chairs.
