GENERAL NEWS

OPA offices closed for Memorial Day
The Ocean Pines Association offices will be closed on May 28th in observance of Memorial Day.

Recast of Community Center Referendum Vote

Members are asked to place the ballot in the self-addressed/postage-paid envelope and mail. Or, you may return the ballot to the ballot box located in the police department in White Horse Park. Ballots must be received before 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 31st.

Sports Core Pool Enclosure Update
Heating and Air conditioning units have been installed in the existing bath house by
Total Comfort System. The foundation for the new Structures Unlimited, Inc. enclosure is currently under construction. To view pictures of the progress, visit the OPA website, www.OceanPines.org

Pools

Make a splash this summer by purchasing a swim membership to the Ocean Pines’ pools scheduled to open Saturday, May 26th. Memberships include full use of the Beach Club pool, Swim and Racquet pool, Mumford's Landing pool and for those 18 years or older, the Yacht Club pool.

 

Tennis

This premier tennis facility features four hard courts, eight clay courts, two-lighted platform tennis courts, a Tennis Pro Shop, bleachers, indoor/outdoor seating areas, drinking fountains and restrooms. 

 

The complex maintains a full time staff during the summer season and private lessons are available.  Equipment rental is also available from the Tennis Pro Shop.


Platform Tennis

Four-lighted platform tennis courts are in the Manklin Meadows Recreation Center located off Manklin Creek Road, East of the South Gate. For adults, there is a one time 30 day, free play introductory period to learn the game by attending our free teaching clinics and any of our drop-in play times.

 

Play is free for Juniors, under 18 years of age, if part of an OP owner’s family.

 

To purchase a weekly, summer or yearly membership, stop by the membership today! The office, located in White Horse Park, is open Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or call 410-641-7717 Ext. 3018.

Special Meeting of the Board of Directors
A Special Meeting of the Board of Directors is scheduled for June 1, 2007 at the Yacht Club at 8 a.m. to announce the results of the referendum. 


Clarke VS OPA Suit Has Been Dismissed
The Association has been notified that Judge Theodore Eschenberg has dismissed, with prejudice, the suit filed by Martin Clarke against the Association. The suit was filed to stop the construction of the Community Center. Members are encouraged to return their referendum ballot by 5 p.m. on May 31st . The results of the referendum will be announced at 8 a.m. June 1st at the Yacht Club.

Sports Core Programs To Be Moved to Swim & Racquet Club Pool

To avoid any interruption of previously scheduled aquatics programs at the Sports Core pool, the Recreation & Parks department has relocated those aquatic programs to the Swim & Racquet Club pool on Seabreeze Road. To enhance conditions at the Swim & Racquet Club pool, a heater designed to increase pool water temperature will be installed.
