For the first time in its’ history, the Ocean Pines Recreation & Parks Department has been awarded by the Maryland Recreation & Parks Association (MRPA) for their work on the 2005 Spring & Summer Activity Guide.

Artists and graphic designers from the MRPA Agency judged materials submitted from Recreation & Parks Departments from all over the state of Maryland. They presented awards for Best in Show and Activity Guide categories for populations under 30,000. The Ocean Pines Recreation & Parks Departments won first place in those categories.

“We all work very hard and I’m glad someone in the recreation field has noticed,” said Recreation & Parks Director Mike Howell. “We take a lot of pride in what we do and I feel it shows not only in our programs but also in our Activities Guide,” he added.

The Spring/Summer Activity Guides are available at the Recreation & Parks building and the administrative offices in White Horse Park.
